Circa 1870's and inspired by jewels discovered in excavations and shown in museums at the time, this delightful and touching necklace is beautifully preserved. With a locket compartment to the reverse which shows the original photograph of a Victorian gentleman. Of gilded base metal and set with a romantic foiled pink cabochon Paste 'gem' framed by a border of white Coral beads; so much detailed and very skilled work has gone into making this gorgeous olden (and once precious) jewel.   

Presented on a doubled 18ct Gold vermeil Silver chain measuring 18 inches. The pendant measures 4m lengthwise.
